Elk ivory and sterling silver antler necklace

Waiting for it's new home ...

A new design using a bezel set elk ivory and an artisan carved and cast sterling silver antler.

I started with a 2 inch wide hand carved and cast sterling silver antler.
The hanging elk ivory was ground to a cabochon shape then bezel set in a few layers of sterling silver to dangle freely below the antler.

The entire piece was oxidized and hand polished to bring out the shapes and textures of the silver.

Including the sterling silver baby rolo chain, the necklace measures approximately 20 inches in length.
